Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most, answered plainly. Can't find yours? Get in touch — you'll reach a human, not a form.

What does Bad Pixels do?

We're a software studio. We design, build, and ship mobile, web, and desktop apps — and we rescue apps that are slow, stuck, or broken. Design, engineering, and delivery move together so nothing slips through the handoff.

What kinds of projects do you take on?

New builds (iOS, Android, web, and desktop), and fixes or upgrades to existing and legacy apps. If you're not sure which you need, start with a scoping call and we'll point you at the right move.

How does a project start?

With a free scoping call. We map goals, users, and constraints, then lock a fixed plan and timeline before any code is written — so there are no open-ended surprises.

How much does a project cost?

It's quoted per project, based on scope. You get a fixed price agreed up front rather than an open-ended meter. For enterprise or custom work, talk to us.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope, but you'll have a timeline before we build. Work runs in two-week sprints, with a working build you can try at the end of each one — so progress is never a mystery.

Who owns the code and intellectual property?

You do. On full payment for an engagement, the bespoke deliverables are assigned or licensed to you as set out in the Statement of Work. See our Terms of Service for the details.

Do you work on existing or legacy apps, not just new ones?

Yes — fixing, upgrading, and modernizing existing apps is a core service. We can take over a build that's limping along and get it back on solid ground.

How do we stay in touch during a project?

You get a direct line to the team building your product — not an account manager relaying messages. Combined with the two-week sprint rhythm, you always know where things stand.

Will you keep our idea confidential?

Yes. We're happy to sign an NDA, and we treat your information as confidential under our agreement with you.

Where are you based? Do you work remotely?

We're remote-first, and Bad Pixels OÜ is established in Estonia (EU). We work with clients wherever they are.

Do you offer support after launch?

Yes. Launch isn't the finish line — we can maintain, support, and keep improving your product well past day one.

How do you protect and secure my data?

We take the security of your data seriously. Traffic to our site and services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and passwords are never stored in plain text — they're salted and hashed. We run on reputable, EU-based cloud infrastructure with access limited to those who need it, and we validate form input and screen uploaded files before storing them. We handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and the EU GDPR, and we don't sell your data or use it to train AI models. Found a security issue? Email security@badpixels.io — we welcome responsible disclosure. (This describes how we operate and isn't a warranty.)

Do you have your own products?

Yes — our own software is in the works, and we're building it in public. Keep an eye on the homepage for what's warming up in the wings.

How do I get a quote or start a project?

Use Start a project or the contact form. Tell us what you're making (or what's broken) and we'll come back with a plan, a timeline, and a team.

How do I apply for a job?

See our Careers page for open roles. Each role has its own page and a short application form — it only takes a couple of minutes, and we reply either way.
